Regenagri

The Regenagri certification sets a standard for agricultural practices, emphasizing regenerative agriculture principles that promote soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem restoration. Regenagri goes beyond traditional certifications by focusing on holistic land management practices that not only sustain but also enhance the environment’s regeneration capacity. By achieving Regenagri certification, Egedeniz Textile demonstrates its commitment to fostering resilient ecosystems and producing textiles in harmony with nature. GOTS

The GOTS certificate, also known as the Global Organic Textile Standard, is an internationally recognized standard for textile production that ensures the organic status of textiles from harvesting of raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing all the way up to labeling. It is widely considered as one of the most comprehensive and stringent certifications for organic textiles and offers assurance to consumers that the products they purchase meet high environmental and ethical standards. The certification covers every aspect of textile production, including the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading, and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70% certified organic natural fibers.

The Organic Content Standard (OCS) verifies the percentage of organically grown content and tracks it from the source to the final product. Products certified to the OCS contain organically grown material that has been independently verified at each stage of the supply chain. The purchase of OCS-certified products demonstrates demand for organic agriculture. Depending on the organic composition, products are classified as follows:

  • OCS 100: Products contain at least 95% certified organically grown material.
  • OCS Blended: Products contain between 5-94% certified organically grown material.

Furthermore, organic cotton is produced and certified to organic agricultural standards, which require specific practices to sustain and protect ecosystems.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is an official ecolabel for products and services that are produced in an environmentally friendly manner. It is a voluntary certification scheme that originated in Scandinavia and is now recognized across Europe. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel sets strict criteria for a wide range of products, including textiles, to ensure that they meet high environmental and quality standards throughout their life cycle. To be certified, products must meet criteria related to the use of environmentally friendly materials, reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, water and waste management, and social responsibility. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is intended to help consumers identify products that have a lower environmental impact and promote sustainable consumption.

OEKO-TEX

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a globally recognized certification for textile products that ensure they are free from harmful substances. The certification is awarded by the International Oeko-Tex Association, which is an independent organization that tests textiles for harmful substances according to a set of strict guidelines. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification applies to all types of textiles, including fabrics, yarns, and clothing. It is intended to provide assurance to consumers that the textile products they purchase have been tested for harmful substances and are therefore safe for human use. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification tests for a wide range of harmful substances, including heavy metals, pesticides, and formaldehyde, among others. Textile products that meet the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 criteria are labeled with a special tag or label that indicates they have been certified.

GRS

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) verifies the percentage of recycled content and tracks it from the source to the final product. Products certified to the GRS contain recycled material that has been independently verified at each stage of the supply chain, from the source to the final product.

In addition, all facilities from the source to the final supplier must meet stringent social, environmental, and chemical requirements. The purchase of GRS-certified products demonstrates a commitment to increasing demand for recycled content and supporting best processing practices throughout the supply chain.

It verifies that the manufacturing process is designed to minimize waste, energy and water usage, and emissions, and that the chemicals used in the process are managed in an environmentally responsible way.

Forest Stewardship Council

FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, which is an international organization that promotes responsible forest management. The FSC works to ensure that forests are managed in an environmentally and socially responsible way, and that the products derived from those forests, such as wood and paper, are sourced in a sustainable manner.

Bluesign®

The Bluesign® standard represents a holistic approach to sustainable textile production that moves beyond testing finished products to addressing the manufacturing process at its root. Utilizing a strict Input Stream Management system, Bluesign® eliminates harmful substances right from the beginning of the supply chain, ensuring that every step of production meets rigorous standards for environmental and human safety.
